## What is CVE-2013-2806?

CVE-2013-2806 is a high-severity vulnerability in Rockwell Automation RSLinx Enterprise Software, published on 26 Mar 2019. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, with no action from the victim.

### Official description

Rockwell Automation RSLinx Enterprise Software (LogReceiver.exe) CPR9, CPR9-SR1, CPR9-SR2, CPR9-SR3, CPR9-SR4, CPR9-SR5, CPR9-SR5.1, and CPR9-SR6 does not handle input correctly and results in a logic error if it calculates an incorrect value for the “End of Current Record” field. By sending a datagram to the service over Port 4444/UDP with the “Record Data Size” field modified to a specifically oversized value, the service will calculate an undersized value for the “Total Record Size.” Then the service will calculate an incorrect value for the “End of Current Record” field causing access violations that lead to a service crash. The service can be recovered with a manual reboot. The patches and details pertaining to these vulnerabilities can be found at the following Rockwell Automation security advisory link (login is required): https://rockwellautomation.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/537599

## Fix prompt for AI coding agents

```text
Check this codebase for CVE-2013-2806 and fix it if it is affected.
What it is: CVE-2013-2806 is a high-severity vulnerability in Rockwell Automation RSLinx Enterprise Software, published on 26 Mar 2019. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, with no action from the victim.
Exploitation: There is no known exploitation of CVE-2013-2806 in the wild and no public exploit code.
Affected product: Rockwell Automation RSLinx Enterprise Software. No package-level version data is available, so check the vendor advisory linked from the reference page.
Task:
1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.
2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.
3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.
4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.
5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.
