What is CVE-2013-4387?
CVE-2013-4387 is a medium-severity memory corruption vulnerability in Linux kernel, published on 10 Oct 2013. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, with no action from the victim.
Official description
net/ipv6/ip6_output.c in the Linux kernel through 3.11.4 does not properly determine the need for UDP Fragmentation Offload (UFO) processing of small packets after the UFO queueing of a large packet, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory corruption and system crash) or possibly have unspecified other impact via network traffic that triggers a large response packet.
Weakness: CWE-119
Which versions are affected by CVE-2013-4387?
It affects 1 product.
Products include Linux kernel.
How do I fix CVE-2013-4387?
Apply the vendor's patch.
Upgrade to the fixed version. Memory-safe languages, compiler hardening and fuzzing prevent most new cases. More about Memory corruption.
Is CVE-2013-4387 being exploited?
