## What is CVE-2013-6397?

CVE-2013-6397 is a medium-severity path traversal vulnerability in n/a, published on 7 Dec 2013. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, with no action from the victim.

### Official description

Directory traversal vulnerability in SolrResourceLoader in Apache Solr before 4.6 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) or full pathname in the tr parameter to solr/select/, when the response writer (wt parameter) is set to XSLT. NOTE: this can be leveraged using a separate XXE (XML eXternal Entity) vulnerability to allow access to files across restricted network boundaries.

Weakness: CWE-22 (Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory)

```text
Check this codebase for CVE-2013-6397 and fix it if it is affected.
What it is: CVE-2013-6397 is a medium-severity path traversal vulnerability in n/a, published on 7 Dec 2013. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, with no action from the victim.
Exploitation: There is no known exploitation of CVE-2013-6397 in the wild and no public exploit code.
Affected packages and fixed versions:
- org.apache.solr:solr-core (Maven): affected all versions; fixed in 4.6.0
- org.apache.solr:solr-core (Maven): affected all versions; fixed in 4.6.0
Task:
1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.
2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.
3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.
4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.
5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.
