## What is CVE-2013-7397?

CVE-2013-7397 is a medium-severity vulnerability in n/a, published on 24 Jun 2015. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, with no action from the victim.

### Official description

Async Http Client (aka AHC or async-http-client) before 1.9.0 skips X.509 certificate verification unless both a keyStore location and a trustStore location are explicitly set, which allows man-in-the-middle attackers to spoof HTTPS servers by presenting an arbitrary certificate during use of a typical AHC configuration, as demonstrated by a configuration that does not send client certificates.

## Fix prompt for AI coding agents

```text
Check this codebase for CVE-2013-7397 and fix it if it is affected.
What it is: CVE-2013-7397 is a medium-severity vulnerability in n/a, published on 24 Jun 2015. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, with no action from the victim.
Exploitation: There is no known exploitation of CVE-2013-7397 in the wild and no public exploit code.
Affected packages and fixed versions:
- com.ning:async-http-client (Maven): affected all versions; fixed in 1.9.0
- com.ning:async-http-client (Maven): affected all versions; fixed in 1.9.0
Task:
1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.
2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.
3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.
4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.
5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.
