## What is CVE-2014-0045?

CVE-2014-0045 is a high-severity vulnerability in n/a, published on 8 Feb 2014. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, with no action from the victim.

### Official description

The needSamples method in AudioOutputSpeech.cpp in the client in Mumble 1.2.4 and the 1.2.3 pre-release snapshots, Mumble for iOS 1.1 through 1.2.2, and MumbleKit before commit fd190328a9b24d37382b269a5674b0c0c7a7e36d does not check the return value of the opus_decode_float function, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) and possibly execute arbitrary code via a crafted Opus voice packet, which triggers an error in opus_decode_float, a conversion of a negative integer to an unsigned integer, and a heap-based buffer over-read and over-write.

## Fix prompt for AI coding agents

```text
Check this codebase for CVE-2014-0045 and fix it if it is affected.
What it is: CVE-2014-0045 is a high-severity vulnerability in n/a, published on 8 Feb 2014. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, with no action from the victim.
Exploitation: There is no known exploitation of CVE-2014-0045 in the wild and no public exploit code.
Affected product: n/a. No package-level version data is available, so check the vendor advisory linked from the reference page.
Task:
1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.
2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.
3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.
4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.
5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.
