## What is CVE-2014-4705?

CVE-2014-4705 is a high-severity memory corruption vulnerability in Huawei Ar3200 Firmware, published on 30 Jan 2018. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, with no action from the victim.

### Official description

Multiple heap-based buffer overflows in the eSap software platform in Huawei Campus S9300, S7700, S9700, S5300, S5700, S6300, and S6700 series switches; AR150, AR160, AR200, AR1200, AR2200, AR3200, AR530, NetEngine16EX, SRG1300, SRG2300, and SRG3300 series routers; and WLAN AC6005, AC6605, and ACU2 access controllers allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service (device restart) via a crafted length field in a packet.

Weakness: CWE-119 (Improper Restriction of Operations within the Bounds of a Memory Buffer)

## Fix prompt for AI coding agents

```text
Check this codebase for CVE-2014-4705 and fix it if it is affected.
What it is: CVE-2014-4705 is a high-severity memory corruption vulnerability in Huawei Ar3200 Firmware, published on 30 Jan 2018. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, with no action from the victim.
Exploitation: There is no known exploitation of CVE-2014-4705 in the wild and no public exploit code.
Affected product: Huawei Ar3200 Firmware. No package-level version data is available, so check the vendor advisory linked from the reference page.
Task:
1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.
2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.
3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.
4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.
5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.
