## What is CVE-2019-14904?

CVE-2019-14904 is a high-severity command injection vulnerability in Debian Debian Linux, published on 25 Aug 2020. It can only be exploited from the same machine or local network, with no action from the victim.

### Official description

A flaw was found in the solaris_zone module from the Ansible Community modules. When setting the name for the zone on the Solaris host, the zone name is checked by listing the process with the 'ps' bare command on the remote machine. An attacker could take advantage of this flaw by crafting the name of the zone and executing arbitrary commands in the remote host. Ansible Engine 2.7.15, 2.8.7, and 2.9.2 as well as previous versions are affected.

Weakness: CWE-78 (Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an OS Command), CWE-20 (Improper Input Validation)

Check this codebase for CVE-2019-14904 and fix it if it is affected.

What it is: CVE-2019-14904 is a high-severity command injection vulnerability in Debian Debian Linux, published on 25 Aug 2020. It can only be exploited from the same machine or local network, with no action from the victim.

Affected packages and fixed versions:
- ansible (PyPI): affected all versions; fixed in 2.7.15, 2.8.7, 2.9.2
- ansible (PyPI): affected all versions; fixed in 2.7.16
- ansible (PyPI): affected all versions; fixed in 2.7.16

Task:
1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.
2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.
3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.
4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.
5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.
