## What is CVE-2019-16943?

CVE-2019-16943 is a critical unsafe deserialization vulnerability in Debian Debian Linux, published on 1 Oct 2019. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, with no action from the victim.

### Official description

A Polymorphic Typing issue was discovered in FasterXML jackson-databind 2.0.0 through 2.9.10. When Default Typing is enabled (either globally or for a specific property) for an externally exposed JSON endpoint and the service has the p6spy (3.8.6) jar in the classpath, and an attacker can find an RMI service endpoint to access, it is possible to make the service execute a malicious payload. This issue exists because of com.p6spy.engine.spy.P6DataSource mishandling.

Weakness: CWE-502 (Deserialization of Untrusted Data)

Check this codebase for CVE-2019-16943 and fix it if it is affected.

What it is: CVE-2019-16943 is a critical unsafe deserialization vulnerability in Debian Debian Linux, published on 1 Oct 2019. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, with no action from the victim.
Exploitation: There is no known exploitation of CVE-2019-16943 in the wild and no public exploit code.

Affected packages and fixed versions:
- com.fasterxml.jackson.core:jackson-databind (Maven): affected all versions; fixed in 2.6.7.3
- com.fasterxml.jackson.core:jackson-databind (Maven): affected all versions; fixed in 2.6.7.3
- com.fasterxml.jackson.core:jackson-databind (Maven): affected from 2.7.0; fixed in 2.8.11.5

Task:
1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.
2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.
3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.
4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.
5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.
