## What is CVE-2020-10735?

CVE-2020-10735 is a medium-severity denial of service vulnerability in Fedoraproject Fedora, published on 9 Sep 2022. It can only be exploited from the same machine or local network, with no action from the victim.

### Official description

A flaw was found in python. In algorithms with quadratic time complexity using non-binary bases, when using int("text"), a system could take 50ms to parse an int string with 100,000 digits and 5s for 1,000,000 digits (float, decimal, int.from_bytes(), and int() for binary bases 2, 4, 8, 16, and 32 are not affected). The highest threat from this vulnerability is to system availability.

Weakness: CWE-704 (Incorrect Type Conversion or Cast)

Check this codebase for CVE-2020-10735 and fix it if it is affected.

What it is: CVE-2020-10735 is a medium-severity denial of service vulnerability in Fedoraproject Fedora, published on 9 Sep 2022. It can only be exploited from the same machine or local network, with no action from the victim.
Exploitation: There is no known exploitation of CVE-2020-10735 in the wild and no public exploit code.

Affected packages and fixed versions:
- libpython (Bitnami): affected from 3.7.0; fixed in 3.7.14, 3.8.14, 3.9.14, 3.10.7
- python (Bitnami): affected from 3.7.0; fixed in 3.7.14, 3.8.14, 3.9.14, 3.10.7
- python-min (Bitnami): affected from 3.7.0; fixed in 3.7.14, 3.8.14, 3.9.14, 3.10.7

Task:
1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.
2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.
3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.
4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.
5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.
