## What is CVE-2020-14422?

CVE-2020-14422 is a medium-severity denial of service vulnerability in Fedoraproject Fedora, published on 18 Jun 2020. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, with no action from the victim.

### Official description

Lib/ipaddress.py in Python through 3.8.3 improperly computes hash values in the IPv4Interface and IPv6Interface classes, which might allow a remote attacker to cause a denial of service if an application is affected by the performance of a dictionary containing IPv4Interface or IPv6Interface objects, and this attacker can cause many dictionary entries to be created. This is fixed in: v3.5.10, v3.5.10rc1; v3.6.12; v3.7.9; v3.8.4, v3.8.4rc1, v3.8.5, v3.8.6, v3.8.6rc1; v3.9.0, v3.9.0b4, v3.9.0b5, v3.9.0rc1, v3.9.0rc2.

Weakness: CWE-682 (Incorrect Calculation), CWE-330 (Use of Insufficiently Random Values)

Check this codebase for CVE-2020-14422 and fix it if it is affected.

What it is: CVE-2020-14422 is a medium-severity denial of service vulnerability in Fedoraproject Fedora, published on 18 Jun 2020. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, with no action from the victim.
Exploitation: There is no known exploitation of CVE-2020-14422 in the wild and no public exploit code.

Affected packages and fixed versions:
- libpython (Bitnami): affected from 3.0.0; fixed in 3.5.10, 3.6.12, 3.7.9, 3.8.4
- python (Bitnami): affected from 3.0.0; fixed in 3.5.10, 3.6.12, 3.7.9, 3.8.4
- python-min (Bitnami): affected from 3.0.0; fixed in 3.5.10, 3.6.12, 3.7.9, 3.8.4

Task:
1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.
2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.
3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.
4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.
5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.
