## What is CVE-2020-29063?

CVE-2020-29063 is a high-severity vulnerability in n/a, published on 24 Nov 2020. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, with no action from the victim.

### Official description

An issue was discovered on CDATA 72408A, 9008A, 9016A, 92408A, 92416A, 9288, 97016, 97024P, 97028P, 97042P, 97084P, 97168P, FD1002S, FD1104, FD1104B, FD1104S, FD1104SN, FD1108S, FD1204S-R2, FD1204SN, FD1204SN-R2, FD1208S-R2, FD1216S-R1, FD1608GS, FD1608SN, FD1616GS, FD1616SN, and FD8000 devices. A custom encryption algorithm is used to store encrypted passwords. This algorithm will XOR the password with the hardcoded *j7a(L#yZ98sSd5HfSgGjMj8;Ss;d)(*&^#@$a2s0i3g value.

Weakness: CWE-327 (Use of a Broken or Risky Cryptographic Algorithm)

## Fix prompt for AI coding agents

```text
Check this codebase for CVE-2020-29063 and fix it if it is affected.
What it is: CVE-2020-29063 is a high-severity vulnerability in n/a, published on 24 Nov 2020. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, with no action from the victim.
Exploitation: There is no known exploitation of CVE-2020-29063 in the wild and no public exploit code.
Affected product: n/a. No package-level version data is available, so check the vendor advisory linked from the reference page.
Task:
1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.
2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.
3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.
4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.
5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.
