## What is CVE-2021-23336?

CVE-2021-23336 is a medium-severity vulnerability in Debian Debian Linux, published on 15 Feb 2021. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, and only if a user opens a file or follows a link.

### Official description

The package python/cpython from 0 and before 3.6.13, from 3.7.0 and before 3.7.10, from 3.8.0 and before 3.8.8, from 3.9.0 and before 3.9.2 are vulnerable to Web Cache Poisoning via urllib.parse.parse_qsl and urllib.parse.parse_qs by using a vector called parameter cloaking. When the attacker can separate query parameters using a semicolon (;), they can cause a difference in the interpretation of the request between the proxy (running with default configuration) and the server. This can result in malicious requests being cached as completely safe ones, as the proxy would usually not see the semicolon as a separator, and therefore would not include it in a cache key of an unkeyed parameter.

Weakness: CWE-444 (Inconsistent Interpretation of HTTP Requests)

Check this codebase for CVE-2021-23336 and fix it if it is affected.

What it is: CVE-2021-23336 is a medium-severity vulnerability in Debian Debian Linux, published on 15 Feb 2021. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, and only if a user opens a file or follows a link.
Exploitation: There is no known exploitation of CVE-2021-23336 in the wild and no public exploit code.

Affected packages and fixed versions:
- django (Bitnami): affected from 2.2.0; fixed in 2.2.19, 3.0.13, 3.1.7
- libpython (Bitnami): affected all versions; fixed in 3.6.13, 3.7.10, 3.8.8, 3.9.2
- python (Bitnami): affected all versions; fixed in 3.6.13, 3.7.10, 3.8.8, 3.9.2
- python-min (Bitnami): affected all versions; fixed in 3.6.13, 3.7.10, 3.8.8, 3.9.2

Task:
1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.
2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.
3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.
4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.
5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.
