## What is CVE-2021-25934?

CVE-2021-25934 is a medium-severity cross-site scripting vulnerability in OpenNMS, published on 25 May 2021. Any signed-in user can exploit it over the network, and only if a user opens a file or follows a link.

### Official description

In OpenNMS Horizon, versions opennms-18.0.0-1 through opennms-27.1.0-1; OpenNMS Meridian, versions meridian-foundation-2015.1.0-1 through meridian-foundation-2019.1.18-1; meridian-foundation-2020.1.0-1 through meridian-foundation-2020.1.7-1 are vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting, since the function `createRequisitionedNode()` does not perform any validation checks on the input sent to the `node-label` parameter. Due to this flaw an attacker could inject an arbitrary script which will be stored in the database.

Weakness: CWE-79 (Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation)

Check this codebase for CVE-2021-25934 and fix it if it is affected.

What it is: CVE-2021-25934 is a medium-severity cross-site scripting vulnerability in OpenNMS, published on 25 May 2021. Any signed-in user can exploit it over the network, and only if a user opens a file or follows a link.
Exploitation: There is no known exploitation of CVE-2021-25934 in the wild and no public exploit code.

Affected packages and fixed versions:
- org.opennms:opennms (Maven): affected from 18.0.0-1 up to 27.1.0-1; no fix listed
- org.opennms:opennms (Maven): affected from 18.0.0-1 up to 27.1.0-1; no fix listed

Task:
1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.
2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.
3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.
4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.
5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.
