## What is CVE-2021-28163?

CVE-2021-28163 is a low-severity path traversal vulnerability in Eclipse Jetty, published on 1 Apr 2021. An attacker needs administrator access to exploit it, with no action from the victim.

### Official description

In Eclipse Jetty 9.4.32 to 9.4.38, 10.0.0.beta2 to 10.0.1, and 11.0.0.beta2 to 11.0.1, if a user uses a webapps directory that is a symlink, the contents of the webapps directory is deployed as a static webapp, inadvertently serving the webapps themselves and anything else that might be in that directory.

Weakness: CWE-59 (Improper Link Resolution Before File Access), CWE-200 (Exposure of Sensitive Information to an Unauthorized Actor)

Check this codebase for CVE-2021-28163 and fix it if it is affected.

What it is: CVE-2021-28163 is a low-severity path traversal vulnerability in Eclipse Jetty, published on 1 Apr 2021. An attacker needs administrator access to exploit it, with no action from the victim.

Affected packages and fixed versions:
- org.eclipse.jetty:jetty-deploy (Maven): affected from 10.0.0; fixed in 10.0.2
- org.eclipse.jetty:jetty-deploy (Maven): affected from 10.0.0; fixed in 10.0.2

Task:
1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.
2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.
3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.
4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.
5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.
