What is CVE-2022-49346?
CVE-2022-49346 is a medium-severity memory corruption vulnerability in Linux kernel, published on 26 Feb 2025. It can only be exploited from the same machine or local network, with no action from the victim.
Official description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: dsa: lantiq_gswip: Fix refcount leak in gswip_gphy_fw_list
Every iteration of for_each_available_child_of_node() decrements the reference count of the previous node. when breaking early from a for_each_available_child_of_node() loop, we need to explicitly call of_node_put() on the gphy_fw_np. Add missing of_node_put() to avoid refcount leak.
Which versions are affected by CVE-2022-49346?
It affects 1 product.
Products include Linux kernel.
How do I fix CVE-2022-49346?
Apply the vendor's patch.
Upgrade to the fixed version. Memory-safe languages, compiler hardening and fuzzing prevent most new cases. More about Memory corruption.
Is CVE-2022-49346 being exploited?
