## What is CVE-2023-28434?

CVE-2023-28434 is a high-severity vulnerability in minio, published on 22 Mar 2023. Any signed-in user can exploit it over the network, with no action from the victim.

### Official description

Minio is a Multi-Cloud Object Storage framework. Prior to RELEASE.2023-03-20T20-16-18Z, an attacker can use crafted requests to bypass metadata bucket name checking and put an object into any bucket while processing `PostPolicyBucket`. To carry out this attack, the attacker requires credentials with `arn:aws:s3:::*` permission, as well as enabled Console API access. This issue has been patched in RELEASE.2023-03-20T20-16-18Z. As a workaround, enable browser API access and turn off `MINIO_BROWSER=off`.

Weakness: CWE-269 (Improper Privilege Management)

Check this codebase for CVE-2023-28434 and fix it if it is affected.

What it is: CVE-2023-28434 is a high-severity vulnerability in minio, published on 22 Mar 2023. Any signed-in user can exploit it over the network, with no action from the victim.
Exploitation: Yes. Attackers have exploited CVE-2023-28434 in the wild since at least 19 Sep 2023.

Affected packages and fixed versions:
- github.com/minio/minio (Go): affected all versions; fixed in 0.0.0-202303200415
- github.com/minio/minio (Go): affected all versions; fixed in 0.0.0-202303200415

Task:
1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.
2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.
3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.
4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.
5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.
