## What is CVE-2023-43804?

CVE-2023-43804 is a medium-severity vulnerability in Debian Debian Linux, published on 4 Oct 2023. An attacker needs administrator access to exploit it, with no action from the victim.

### Official description

urllib3 is a user-friendly HTTP client library for Python. urllib3 doesn't treat the `Cookie` HTTP header special or provide any helpers for managing cookies over HTTP, that is the responsibility of the user. However, it is possible for a user to specify a `Cookie` header and unknowingly leak information via HTTP redirects to a different origin if that user doesn't disable redirects explicitly. This issue has been patched in urllib3 version 1.26.17 or 2.0.5.

Weakness: CWE-200 (Exposure of Sensitive Information to an Unauthorized Actor)

Check this codebase for CVE-2023-43804 and fix it if it is affected.

What it is: CVE-2023-43804 is a medium-severity vulnerability in Debian Debian Linux, published on 4 Oct 2023. An attacker needs administrator access to exploit it, with no action from the victim.
Exploitation: There is no known exploitation of CVE-2023-43804 in the wild and no public exploit code.

Affected packages and fixed versions:
- urllib3 (PyPI): affected all versions; fixed in 1.26.17
- urllib3 (PyPI): affected all versions; fixed in 1.26.17
- urllib3 (PyPI): affected from 2.0.0; fixed in 2.0.6, 1.26.17
- urllib3 (PyPI): affected from 2.0.0; fixed in 2.0.6
- urllib3 (PyPI): affected from 2.0.0; fixed in 2.0.6

Task:
1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.
2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.
3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.
4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.
5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.
