Any signed-in user can exploit it over the network, with no action from the victim.\nExploitation: There is no known exploitation of CVE-2023-49282 in the wild and no public exploit code.\n\nAffected packages and fixed versions:\n- microsoft/microsoft-graph (Packagist): affected from 1.16.0; fixed in 1.109.1\n- microsoft/microsoft-graph (Packagist): affected from 1.16.0; fixed in 1.109.1\n- microsoft/microsoft-graph (Packagist): affected from 2.0.0-RC1; fixed in 2.0.1\n- microsoft/microsoft-graph (Packagist): affected from 2.0.0-RC1; fixed in 2.0.1\n\nTask:\n1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.\n2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.\n3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.\n4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.\n5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.\n\nReference: https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2023-49282/ (Markdown: https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2023-49282/index.md)","id":"CVE-2023-49282","markdown":"https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2023-49282/index.md","name":"CVE-2023-49282","record":{"aliases":["GHSA-cgwq-6prq-8h9q"],"analysis":{"component_type":"library","fix_type":"patch","impacts":["data_read"],"network_reachable":"yes","non_default_config":true,"product_category":"Microsoft Graph PHP SDK","requires_auth":"low_privilege","summary":"Published test code in the Microsoft Graph PHP SDK exposes system information via phpinfo() if the vendor directory is web-accessible.","user_interaction":"not_required","vuln_class":"information_disclosure"},"analysis_generated_by":"qwen3.8-flash-next","assigner":"GitHub_M","cpe":[{"product":"graph","vendor":"microsoft"}],"cvss":{"score":5.4,"severity":"medium","source":"cna","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:L","version":"3.1"},"cwes":[{"id":"CWE-200","name":"Exposure of Sensitive Information to an Unauthorized Actor"}],"description":"msgraph-sdk-php is the Microsoft Graph Library for PHP. The Microsoft Graph PHP SDK published packages which contained test code that enabled the use of the phpInfo() function from any application that could access and execute the file at vendor/microsoft/microsoft-graph/tests/GetPhpInfo.php.  The phpInfo function exposes system information. The vulnerability affects the GetPhpInfo.php script of the PHP SDK which contains a call to the phpinfo() function. This vulnerability requires a misconfiguration of the server to be present so it can be exploited. For example, making the PHP application’s /vendor directory web accessible. The combination of the vulnerability and the server misconfiguration would allow an attacker to craft an HTTP request that executes the phpinfo() method. The attacker would then be able to get access to system information like configuration, modules, and environment variables and later on use the compromised secrets to access additional data. This problem has been patched in versions 1.109.1 and 2.0.0-RC5. If an immediate deployment with the updated vendor package is not available, you can perform the following temporary workarounds: delete the `vendor/microsoft/microsoft-graph/tests/GetPhpInfo.php` file, remove access to the `/vendor` directory, or disable the phpinfo function.","ecosystems":["Packagist"],"exploits":{"exploitdb":0,"first_seen":null,"github_poc":0,"max_poc_stars":null,"metasploit":0,"nuclei":0,"refs":[],"tier":"none_known"},"has_fix":true,"headline":"Test code in published microsoft-graph package exposes phpinfo()","id":"CVE-2023-49282","indexable":true,"kev":null,"kind":"cve","links":{"ecosystem":"Packagist","product":null,"products":[],"type":"information_disclosure","year":"2023"},"n_packages":4,"n_references":5,"next":{"headline":"Test code in published microsoft-graph-core package exposes phpinfo()","id":"CVE-2023-49283"},"packages":[{"ecosystem":"Packagist","fixed":["1.109.1"],"introduced":["1.16.0"],"last_affected":[],"package":"microsoft/microsoft-graph","purl":null,"source":"GHSA-cgwq-6prq-8h9q"},{"ecosystem":"Packagist","fixed":["1.109.1"],"introduced":["1.16.0"],"last_affected":[],"package":"microsoft/microsoft-graph","purl":"pkg:composer/microsoft/microsoft-graph","source":"GHSA-cgwq-6prq-8h9q"},{"ecosystem":"Packagist","fixed":["2.0.1"],"introduced":["2.0.0-RC1"],"last_affected":[],"package":"microsoft/microsoft-graph","purl":null,"source":"GHSA-cgwq-6prq-8h9q"},{"ecosystem":"Packagist","fixed":["2.0.1"],"introduced":["2.0.0-RC1"],"last_affected":[],"package":"microsoft/microsoft-graph","purl":"pkg:composer/microsoft/microsoft-graph","source":"GHSA-cgwq-6prq-8h9q"}],"prev":{"headline":"Open Redirect in Login Function of Calendarinho","id":"CVE-2023-49281"},"products":["msgraph-sdk-php"],"published":"2023-12-05","related":[{"cvss_score":6.5,"headline":"Microsoft Graph Information Disclosure Vulnerability","id":"CVE-2026-49159","kev_date_added":null,"published":"2026-07-24"},{"cvss_score":6.5,"headline":"Microsoft Graph Information Disclosure Vulnerability","id":"CVE-2026-47655","kev_date_added":null,"published":"2026-06-04"},{"cvss_score":5.4,"headline":"Test code in published microsoft-graph-core package exposes phpinfo()","id":"CVE-2023-49283","kev_date_added":null,"published":"2023-12-05"}],"sources":[{"class":"attribution","licence":"CVE Terms of Use (MITRE)","name":"CVE List","prefix":"CVE"},{"class":"attribution","licence":"CC BY 4.0","name":"GitHub Advisory Database","prefix":"GHSA"},{"class":"attribution","licence":"US public information, NVD API terms","name":"NVD"},{"class":"attribution","licence":"CWE Terms of Use","name":"CWE (MITRE)"},{"class":"attribution","licence":"FIRST CVSS licence","name":"CVSS (FIRST)"}],"ssvc":{"automatable":null,"exploitation":null,"technical_impact":null},"state":"PUBLISHED","updated":"2024-08-02","vendors":["microsoftgraph"]},"summary":"Published test code in the Microsoft Graph PHP SDK exposes system information via phpinfo() if the vendor directory is web-accessible.","url":"https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2023-49282/"}
