## What is CVE-2024-52337?

CVE-2024-52337 is a medium-severity vulnerability in Fast Datapath for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, published on 26 Nov 2024. It can only be exploited from the same machine or local network, with no action from the victim.

### Official description

A log spoofing flaw was found in the Tuned package due to improper sanitization of some API arguments. This flaw allows an attacker to pass a controlled sequence of characters; newlines can be inserted into the log. Instead of the 'evil' the attacker could mimic a valid TuneD log line and trick the administrator. The quotes '' are usually used in TuneD logs citing raw user input, so there will always be the ' character ending the spoofed input, and the administrator can easily overlook this. This logged string is later used in logging and in the output of utilities, for example, `tuned-adm get_instances` or other third-party programs that use Tuned's D-Bus interface for such operations.

Weakness: CWE-20 (Improper Input Validation)

Check this codebase for CVE-2024-52337 and fix it if it is affected.

What it is: CVE-2024-52337 is a medium-severity vulnerability in Fast Datapath for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, published on 26 Nov 2024. It can only be exploited from the same machine or local network, with no action from the victim.
Exploitation: There is no known exploitation of CVE-2024-52337 in the wild and no public exploit code.

Affected product: Fast Datapath for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7. No package-level version data is available, so check the vendor advisory linked from the reference page.

Task:
1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.
2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.
3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.
4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.
5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.
