## What is CVE-2024-7347?

CVE-2024-7347 is a medium-severity denial of service vulnerability in F5 NGINX Open Source, published on 14 Aug 2024. It can only be exploited from the same machine or local network, with no action from the victim.

### Official description

NGINX Open Source and NGINX Plus have a vulnerability in the ngx_http_mp4_module, which might allow an attacker to over-read NGINX worker memory resulting in its termination, using a specially crafted mp4 file. The issue only affects NGINX if it is built with the ngx_http_mp4_module and the mp4 directive is used in the configuration file. Additionally, the attack is possible only if an attacker can trigger the processing of a specially crafted mp4 file with the ngx_http_mp4_module.  Note: Software versions which have reached End of Technical Support (EoTS) are not evaluated.

Weakness: CWE-125 (Out-of-bounds Read), CWE-126 (Buffer Over-read)

Check this codebase for CVE-2024-7347 and fix it if it is affected.

What it is: CVE-2024-7347 is a medium-severity denial of service vulnerability in F5 NGINX Open Source, published on 14 Aug 2024. It can only be exploited from the same machine or local network, with no action from the victim.
Exploitation: There is no known exploitation of CVE-2024-7347 in the wild and no public exploit code.

Affected packages and fixed versions:
- nginx (Bitnami): affected from 1.5.13; fixed in 1.26.2, 1.27.1
- nginx-gateway (Bitnami): affected from 1.5.13; fixed in 1.26.2, 1.27.1

Task:
1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.
2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.
3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.
4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.
5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.
