## What is CVE-2025-12383?

CVE-2025-12383 is a critical vulnerability in Eclipse Foundation Jersey, published on 18 Nov 2025. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, with no action from the victim.

### Official description

In Eclipse Jersey versions 2.45, 3.0.16, 3.1.9 a race condition can cause ignoring of critical SSL configurations - such as mutual authentication, custom key/trust stores, and other security settings. This issue may result in SSLHandshakeException under normal circumstances, but under certain conditions, it could lead to unauthorized trust in insecure servers (see PoC)

Weakness: CWE-362 (Concurrent Execution using Shared Resource with Improper Synchronization)

- org.glassfish.jersey.core:jersey-client (Maven): affected from 2.45; fixed in 2.46
- org.glassfish.jersey.core:jersey-client (Maven): affected from 3.0.16; fixed in 3.0.17

Task:
1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.
2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.
3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.
4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.
5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.
