What is CVE-2025-58187?

CVE-2025-58187 is a high-severity denial of service vulnerability in Golang Go, published on 29 Oct 2025. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, with no action from the victim.

Official description

Due to the design of the name constraint checking algorithm, the processing time of some inputs scale non-linearly with respect to the size of the certificate. This affects programs which validate arbitrary certificate chains.

How do I fix CVE-2025-58187?

Upgrade golang to a fixed version for your release line: 1.24.9 or 1.25.3.

Upgrade, then put limits on request size, rate and nesting depth so one client cannot exhaust the service. More about Denial of service.
