What is CVE-2025-61728?

CVE-2025-61728 is a medium-severity denial of service vulnerability in Golang Go, published on 28 Jan 2026. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, and only if a user opens a file or follows a link.

Official description

archive/zip uses a super-linear file name indexing algorithm that is invoked the first time a file in an archive is opened. This can lead to a denial of service when consuming a maliciously constructed ZIP archive.
