## What is CVE-2026-102086?

CVE-2026-102086 is a high-severity vulnerability in Juniper Networks Junos OS, published on 14 Oct 2026. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, with no action from the victim.

### Official description

A NULL Pointer Dereference vulnerability in the DNS plugin of Juniper Networks Junos OS on SRX Series allows an unauthenticated, network-based attacker to cause a complete Denial-of-Service (DoS).

When multiple DNS queries are received in a single flow session, where one query matches a Security Intelligence (SecIntel) feed and another query is sent for DNS Domain Generation Algorithm (DGA) analysis, an error in processing logging of these asynchronous tasks can lead to an FPC crash. The exact timing conditions are outside an attacker's direct control.

This issue affects Junos OS on SRX Series:

  *  All versions before 23.2R2-S7.7;
  *  from 23.4 before 23.4R2-S8.13;
  *  from 24.2 before 24.2R2-S5.5;
  *  from 24.4 before 24.4R2-S4;
  *  from 25.2 before 25.2R2-S1;
  *  from 25.4 before 25.4R1-S2.

Weakness: CWE-476 (NULL Pointer Dereference)

Check this codebase for CVE-2026-102086 and fix it if it is affected.

What it is: CVE-2026-102086 is a high-severity vulnerability in Juniper Networks Junos OS, published on 14 Oct 2026. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, with no action from the victim.
Exploitation: There is no known exploitation of CVE-2026-102086 in the wild and no public exploit code.

Affected product: Juniper Networks Junos OS. No package-level version data is available, so check the vendor advisory linked from the reference page.

Task:
1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.
2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.
3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.
4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.
5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.
