## What is CVE-2026-103896?

CVE-2026-103896 is a high-severity path traversal vulnerability in 10Web Booster – Website speed optimization, Cache & Page Speed optimizer, published on 16 Oct 2026. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, with no action from the victim.

### Official description

The 10Web Booster – Website speed optimization, Cache & Page Speed optimizer plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to a limited file write via path traversal in versions up to, and including, 2.34.5 This is due to the OptimizerWebPageCache::get_cache_file_dir() function concatenating raw, unsanitized $_GET parameter names and values into the on-disk cache path, and the cache_content() sink calling mkdir() and file_put_contents() on the result with no realpath containment check — unlike the sibling delete_page_cache(), which does perform one. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to create arbitrary directories (mode 0777, recursively) outside the cache root and write a cached page into them. The write is LIMITED: the filename is always 'source.html', so the extension is fixed, and the content is the rendered page buffer rather than attacker-supplied data. PHP files cannot be written and code execution is not possible; the demonstrated impact is cache poisoning and arbitrary directory creation.

Weakness: CWE-22 (Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory)

Check this codebase for CVE-2026-103896 and fix it if it is affected.

What it is: CVE-2026-103896 is a high-severity path traversal vulnerability in 10Web Booster – Website speed optimization, Cache & Page Speed optimizer, published on 16 Oct 2026. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, with no action from the victim.
Exploitation: There is no known exploitation of CVE-2026-103896 in the wild and no public exploit code.

Affected product: 10Web Booster – Website speed optimization, Cache & Page Speed optimizer. No package-level version data is available, so check the vendor advisory linked from the reference page.

Task:
1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.
2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.
3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.
4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.
5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.
