## What is CVE-2026-108380?

CVE-2026-108380 is a high-severity code injection vulnerability in marcosschroh dataclasses-avroschema, published on 13 Oct 2026. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, and only if a user opens a file or follows a link.

### Official description

dataclasses-avroschema generates Avro schemas from Python dataclasses, Pydantic models, and Faust Records and generates Python code from Avro schemas. From version 0.65.9 through 0.70.5, PydanticFieldRepresentation.add_field_properties inserts a schema field's doc value between the quotes of a generated pydantic.Field description argument without escaping it. A crafted quote can terminate the string and inject an expression evaluated during generated class definition, allowing arbitrary Python code execution for Pydantic and AvroDantic model generation. Version 0.70.6 fixes the vulnerability by escaping the documentation value before rendering it.

Weakness: CWE-94 (Improper Control of Generation of Code)

What it is: CVE-2026-108380 is a high-severity code injection vulnerability in marcosschroh dataclasses-avroschema, published on 13 Oct 2026. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, and only if a user opens a file or follows a link.
Exploitation: It is not confirmed as exploited in the wild, but public exploit code for CVE-2026-108380 exists.

Affected product: marcosschroh dataclasses-avroschema. No package-level version data is available, so check the vendor advisory linked from the reference page.

Task:
1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.
2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.
3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.
4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.
5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.
