## What is CVE-2026-109619?

CVE-2026-109619 is a critical vulnerability in Paloaltonetworks Pan-Os, published on 21 Oct 2026.

### Official description

PHP has various global state that temporarily points into request memory. In some scenarios, global state may not be correctly reset, or may be repopulated after being reset. The global state may then refer to request memory even after it has been freed. Subsequent requests may read or branch on this stale state before it is fully initialized. Multiple strategies can trigger this condition and produce remote code execution (RCE).

Weakness: CWE-824 (Access of Uninitialized Pointer), CWE-755 (Improper Handling of Exceptional Conditions), CWE-416 (Use After Free), CWE-1419 (Incorrect Initialization of Resource), CWE-1325 (Improperly Controlled Sequential Memory Allocation)

## Fix prompt for AI coding agents

```text
Check this codebase for CVE-2026-109619 and fix it if it is affected.
What it is: CVE-2026-109619 is a critical vulnerability in Paloaltonetworks Pan-Os, published on 21 Oct 2026.
Exploitation: Yes. Attackers have exploited CVE-2026-109619 in the wild since at least 26 Oct 2026.
Affected packages and fixed versions:
- libphp (Bitnami): affected from 5.4.0; fixed in 8.2.35, 8.3.36, 8.4.27, 8.5.12
- php (Bitnami): affected from 5.4.0; fixed in 8.2.35, 8.3.36, 8.4.27, 8.5.12
- php-min (Bitnami): affected from 5.4.0; fixed in 8.2.35, 8.3.36, 8.4.27, 8.5.12
Task:
1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.
2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.
3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.
4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.
5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.
