CVE-2026-112048 is a medium-severity denial of service vulnerability in libspatialite, published on 18 Oct 2026. It can only be exploited from the same machine or local network, and only if a user opens a file or follows a link.
Official description
libspatialite through 5.1.0 fails to validate the polygon ring count in ParseWkbPolygon, allowing attackers to trigger uncontrolled interior-ring allocation via crafted geometry BLOBs. Attackers can supply a crafted polygon in a SpatiaLite database or ST_GeomFromWKB input to crash the process or corrupt heap memory on 32-bit builds.
Weakness: CWE-789
Which versions are affected by CVE-2026-112048?
How do I fix CVE-2026-112048?
