What is CVE-2026-112053?
CVE-2026-112053 is a medium-severity memory corruption vulnerability in schroedinger, published on 18 Oct 2026. It can only be exploited from the same machine or local network, and only if a user opens a file or follows a link.
Official description
Schroedinger libschroedinger through 1.0.11 contains an out-of-bounds read vulnerability that allows attackers to read past a static quantiser table by supplying unvalidated wavelet filter index or transform depth values. Attackers can deliver a crafted low-delay Dirac stream with a wavelet filter index of 7 or more or transform depth of 5 or 6 to crash decoding applications.
Weakness: CWE-125
Which versions are affected by CVE-2026-112053?
How do I fix CVE-2026-112053?
No fix has been published for CVE-2026-112053 yet. Limit exposure of the affected software until one is available.
Upgrade to the fixed version. Memory-safe languages, compiler hardening and fuzzing prevent most new cases. More about Memory corruption.
