What is CVE-2026-112054?
CVE-2026-112054 is a medium-severity denial of service vulnerability in schroedinger, published on 18 Oct 2026. It can only be exploited from the same machine or local network, and only if a user opens a file or follows a link.
Official description
Schroedinger libschroedinger through 1.0.11 contains a divide by zero vulnerability that allows attackers to crash applications by supplying a zero slice_bytes_denom or slice count in a Dirac stream. Attackers can provide a crafted low-delay picture parsed by schro_decoder_parse_transform_parameters and schro_decoder_parse_lowdelay_transform_data to trigger a SIGFPE and cause denial of service.
Weakness: CWE-369
Which versions are affected by CVE-2026-112054?
How do I fix CVE-2026-112054?
No fix has been published for CVE-2026-112054 yet. Limit exposure of the affected software until one is available.
Upgrade, then put limits on request size, rate and nesting depth so one client cannot exhaust the service. More about Denial of service.
Is CVE-2026-112054 being exploited?
It is not confirmed as exploited in the wild, but public exploit code for CVE-2026-112054 exists.
