An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, with no action from the victim.\nExploitation: There is no known exploitation of CVE-2026-26016 in the wild and no public exploit code.\n\nAffected packages and fixed versions:\n- pterodactyl/panel (Packagist): affected all versions; fixed in 1.12.1\n- pterodactyl/panel (Packagist): affected all versions; fixed in 1.12.1\n\nTask:\n1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.\n2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.\n3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.\n4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.\n5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.\n\nReference: https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-26016/ (Markdown: https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-26016/index.md)","id":"CVE-2026-26016","markdown":"https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-26016/index.md","name":"CVE-2026-26016","record":{"aliases":["GHSA-g7vw-f8p5-c728"],"analysis":{"component_type":"web_application","fix_type":"upgrade","impacts":["data_read","data_modify"],"network_reachable":"yes","non_default_config":false,"product_category":"Game server management panel","requires_auth":"none","summary":"A compromised Wings node token allows attackers to read and modify server configurations across all nodes, leading to data loss and secret exfiltration.","user_interaction":"not_required","vuln_class":"missing_authorization"},"analysis_generated_by":"qwen3.8-flash-next","assigner":"GitHub_M","cpe":[{"product":"panel","vendor":"pterodactyl"}],"cvss":{"score":9.2,"severity":"critical","source":"cna","vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:H/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:L/SA:L","version":"4.0"},"cwes":[{"id":"CWE-639","name":"Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key"},{"id":"CWE-283","name":"Unverified Ownership"}],"description":"Wings is the server control plane for Pterodactyl, a free, open-source game server management panel. Prior to version 1.12.1, a missing authorization check in multiple controllers allows any user with access to a node secret token to fetch information about any server on a Pterodactyl instance, even if that server is associated with a different node. This issue stems from missing logic to verify that the node requesting server data is the same node that the server is associated with. Any authenticated Wings node can retrieve server installation scripts (potentially containing secret values) and manipulate the installation status of servers belonging to other nodes. Wings nodes may also manipulate the transfer status of servers belonging to other nodes. This vulnerability requires a user to acquire a secret access token for a node. Unless a user gains access to a Wings secret access token they would not be able to access any of these vulnerable endpoints, as every endpoint requires a valid node access token. A single compromised Wings node daemon token (stored in plaintext at `/etc/pterodactyl/config.yml`) grants access to sensitive configuration data of every server on the panel, rather than only to servers that the node has access to. An attacker can use this information to move laterally through the system, send excessive notifications, destroy server data on other nodes, and otherwise exfiltrate secrets that they should not have access to with only a node token. Additionally, triggering a false transfer success causes the panel to delete the server from the source node, resulting in permanent data loss. Users should upgrade to version 1.12.1 to receive a fix.","ecosystems":["Packagist"],"exploits":{"exploitdb":0,"first_seen":null,"github_poc":0,"max_poc_stars":null,"metasploit":0,"nuclei":0,"refs":[],"tier":"none_known"},"has_fix":true,"headline":"Pterodactyl Panel Allows Cross-Node Server Configuration Disclosure via Remote API Missing Authorization","id":"CVE-2026-26016","indexable":true,"kev":null,"kind":"cve","links":{"ecosystem":"Packagist","product":null,"products":[],"type":"missing_authorization","year":"2026"},"n_packages":2,"n_references":2,"next":{"headline":"CoreDNS ACL Bypass","id":"CVE-2026-26017"},"packages":[{"ecosystem":"Packagist","fixed":["1.12.1"],"introduced":["0"],"last_affected":[],"package":"pterodactyl/panel","purl":null,"source":"GHSA-g7vw-f8p5-c728"},{"ecosystem":"Packagist","fixed":["1.12.1"],"introduced":["0"],"last_affected":[],"package":"pterodactyl/panel","purl":"pkg:composer/pterodactyl/panel","source":"GHSA-g7vw-f8p5-c728"}],"prev":{"headline":"Unauthenticated RCE in DocsGPT MCP STDIO Configuration","id":"CVE-2026-26015"},"products":["panel"],"published":"2026-02-19","related":[{"cvss_score":8.1,"headline":"Authentication bypass in Pterodactyl","id":"CVE-2021-41129","kev_date_added":null,"published":"2021-10-06"},{"cvss_score":7.5,"headline":"Pterodactyl does not revoke SFTP access when server is deleted or permissions reduced","id":"CVE-2025-68954","kev_date_added":null,"published":"2026-01-06"},{"cvss_score":7.5,"headline":"Pterodactyl vulnerable to 2FA Sniffing","id":"CVE-2019-1020002","kev_date_added":null,"published":"2019-07-29"},{"cvss_score":6.5,"headline":"Pterodactyl TOTPs can be reused during validity window","id":"CVE-2025-69197","kev_date_added":null,"published":"2026-01-06"},{"cvss_score":6.1,"headline":"Multiple cross site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in the admin area of Pterodactyl panel","id":"CVE-2024-34067","kev_date_added":null,"published":"2024-05-03"},{"cvss_score":6,"headline":"Pterodactyl's improper resource locking allows raced queries to create more resources than alloted","id":"CVE-2025-69198","kev_date_added":null,"published":"2026-01-19"}],"sources":[{"class":"attribution","licence":"CVE Terms of Use (MITRE)","name":"CVE List","prefix":"CVE"},{"class":"attribution","licence":"CC BY 4.0","name":"GitHub Advisory Database","prefix":"GHSA"},{"class":"attribution","licence":"US public information, NVD API terms","name":"NVD"},{"class":"attribution","licence":"CWE Terms of Use","name":"CWE (MITRE)"},{"class":"attribution","licence":"FIRST CVSS licence","name":"CVSS (FIRST)"}],"ssvc":{"automatable":"no","exploitation":"none","technical_impact":"total"},"state":"PUBLISHED","updated":"2026-02-20","vendors":["pterodactyl"]},"summary":"A compromised Wings node token allows attackers to read and modify server configurations across all nodes, leading to data loss and secret exfiltration.","url":"https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-26016/"}
