Any signed-in user can exploit it over the network, with no action from the victim.\nExploitation: It is not confirmed as exploited in the wild, but public exploit code for CVE-2026-32941 exists.\n\nAffected packages and fixed versions:\n- github.com/bishopfox/sliver (Go): affected all versions; no fix listed\n- github.com/bishopfox/sliver (Go): affected all versions up to 1.7.3; no fix listed\n- github.com/bishopfox/sliver (Go): affected all versions up to 1.7.3; no fix listed\n\nTask:\n1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.\n2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.\n3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.\n4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.\n5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.\n\nReference: https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-32941/ (Markdown: https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-32941/index.md)","id":"CVE-2026-32941","markdown":"https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-32941/index.md","name":"CVE-2026-32941","record":{"aliases":["GHSA-97vp-pwqj-46qc","GO-2026-4723"],"analysis":{"component_type":"server_software","fix_type":"no_fix_stated","impacts":["denial_of_service"],"network_reachable":"yes","non_default_config":false,"product_category":"C2 framework","requires_auth":"low_privilege","summary":"An authenticated attacker can crash the Sliver C2 server by sending crafted messages that trigger excessive memory allocation, disrupting all active sessions.","user_interaction":"not_required","vuln_class":"denial_of_service"},"analysis_generated_by":"qwen3.8-flash-next","assigner":"GitHub_M","cpe":[{"product":"sliver","vendor":"bishopfox"}],"cvss":{"score":5.7,"severity":"medium","source":"cna","vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:P","version":"4.0"},"cwes":[{"id":"CWE-789","name":"Memory Allocation with Excessive Size Value"},{"id":"CWE-770","name":"Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling"}],"description":"Sliver is a command and control framework that uses a custom Wireguard netstack. Versions 1.7.3 and below contain a Remote OOM (Out-of-Memory) vulnerability in the Sliver C2 server's mTLS and WireGuard C2 transport layer. The socketReadEnvelope and socketWGReadEnvelope functions trust an attacker-controlled 4-byte length prefix to allocate memory, with ServerMaxMessageSize allowing single allocations of up to ~2 GiB. A compromised implant or an attacker with valid credentials can exploit this by sending fabricated length prefixes over concurrent yamux streams (up to 128 per connection), forcing the server to attempt allocating ~256 GiB of memory and triggering an OS OOM kill. This crashes the Sliver server, disrupts all active implant sessions, and may degrade or kill other processes sharing the same host. The same pattern also affects all implant-side readers, which have no upper-bound check at all. The issue was not fixed at the the time of publication.","ecosystems":["Go"],"exploits":{"exploitdb":0,"first_seen":"2026-03-03","github_poc":1,"max_poc_stars":6,"metasploit":0,"nuclei":0,"refs":[{"date":"2026-03-03T23:57:19Z","kind":"github_poc","ref":"https://github.com/skoveit/CVE-2026-32941","stars":6,"title":"CVE-2026-32941 PoC"}],"tier":"weaponised"},"has_fix":true,"headline":"Sliver Vulnerable to Authenticated OOM via Memory Exhaustion in mTLS/WireGuard Transports","id":"CVE-2026-32941","indexable":true,"kev":null,"kind":"cve","links":{"ecosystem":"Go","product":null,"products":[],"type":"denial_of_service","year":"2026"},"n_packages":3,"n_references":1,"next":{"headline":"PJSIP has ICE session use-after-free race conditions","id":"CVE-2026-32942"},"packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","fixed":[],"introduced":["0"],"last_affected":[],"package":"github.com/bishopfox/sliver","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/bishopfox/sliver","source":"GO-2026-4723"},{"ecosystem":"Go","fixed":[],"introduced":["0"],"last_affected":["1.7.3"],"package":"github.com/bishopfox/sliver","purl":null,"source":"GHSA-97vp-pwqj-46qc"},{"ecosystem":"Go","fixed":[],"introduced":["0"],"last_affected":["1.7.3"],"package":"github.com/bishopfox/sliver","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/bishopfox/sliver","source":"GHSA-97vp-pwqj-46qc"}],"prev":{"headline":"SiYuan has a SanitizeSVG bypass via data:text/xml in getDynamicIcon (incomplete fix for CVE-2026-29183)","id":"CVE-2026-32940"},"products":["sliver"],"published":"2026-03-20","related":[{"cvss_score":8.1,"headline":"Silver vulnerable to MitM attack against implants due to a cryptography vulnerability","id":"CVE-2023-34758","kev_date_added":null,"published":"2023-08-28"},{"cvss_score":7.5,"headline":"Sliver has a DNS C2 OTP Bypass Allows Unauthenticated Session Flooding and Denial of Service","id":"CVE-2026-25791","kev_date_added":null,"published":"2026-02-09"},{"cvss_score":6.9,"headline":"Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) in sliver teamserver","id":"CVE-2025-27090","kev_date_added":null,"published":"2025-02-19"},{"cvss_score":6.5,"headline":"Website Path Traversal / Arbitrary File Read (Authenticated) in Sliver","id":"CVE-2026-25760","kev_date_added":null,"published":"2026-02-06"},{"cvss_score":5.9,"headline":"Sliver One-Click Remote Access: Insecure CORS \u0026 Unauthenticated MCP Interface","id":"CVE-2026-34227","kev_date_added":null,"published":"2026-03-31"},{"cvss_score":2.1,"headline":"Sliver: Authenticated Nil-Pointer Dereference in Handlers","id":"CVE-2026-29781","kev_date_added":null,"published":"2026-03-07"}],"sources":[{"class":"attribution","licence":"CVE Terms of Use (MITRE)","name":"CVE List","prefix":"CVE"},{"class":"attribution","licence":"CC BY 4.0","name":"GitHub Advisory Database","prefix":"GHSA"},{"class":"attribution","licence":"CC BY 4.0","name":"Go Vulnerability Database","prefix":"GO"},{"class":"attribution","licence":"US public information, NVD API terms","name":"NVD"},{"class":"attribution","licence":"CWE Terms of Use","name":"CWE (MITRE)"},{"class":"attribution","licence":"FIRST CVSS licence","name":"CVSS (FIRST)"},{"class":"open","licence":"CC0","name":"PoC-in-GitHub"}],"ssvc":{"automatable":"no","exploitation":"poc","technical_impact":"partial"},"state":"PUBLISHED","updated":"2026-03-21","vendors":["BishopFox"]},"summary":"An authenticated attacker can crash the Sliver C2 server by sending crafted messages that trigger excessive memory allocation, disrupting all active sessions.","url":"https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-32941/"}
