Any signed-in user can exploit it over the network, with no action from the victim.\nExploitation: It is not confirmed as exploited in the wild, but public exploit code for CVE-2026-49338 exists.\n\nAffected packages and fixed versions:\n- go.senan.xyz/gonic (Go): affected all versions; fixed in 0.21.0\n- go.senan.xyz/gonic (Go): affected all versions; fixed in 0.21.0\n- go.senan.xyz/gonic (Go): affected all versions; fixed in 0.21.0\n\nTask:\n1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.\n2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.\n3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.\n4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.\n5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.\n\nReference: https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-49338/ (Markdown: https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-49338/index.md)","id":"CVE-2026-49338","markdown":"https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-49338/index.md","name":"CVE-2026-49338","record":{"aliases":["GHSA-hmgp-w9jm-vp95","GO-2026-5830"],"analysis":{"component_type":"server_software","fix_type":"upgrade","impacts":["data_read","data_modify"],"network_reachable":"yes","non_default_config":false,"product_category":"Music streaming server","requires_auth":"low_privilege","summary":"Authenticated users can delete or read any other user's private playlists due to missing per-resource authorization checks in the Subsonic API.","user_interaction":"not_required","vuln_class":"missing_authorization"},"analysis_generated_by":"qwen3.8-flash-next","assigner":"GitHub_M","cpe":[],"cvss":{"score":7.1,"severity":"high","source":"cna","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:H/A:N","version":"3.1"},"cwes":[{"id":"CWE-639","name":"Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key"},{"id":"CWE-285","name":"Improper Authorization"}],"description":"gonic is a music streaming server / free-software subsonic server API implementation. Prior to version 0.21.0, the Subsonic API endpoints `/rest/deletePlaylist.view` and `/rest/getPlaylist.view` perform no per-resource authorization. Once authenticated as any user (admin or not), an attacker can delete any playlist owned by any other user (including admin) by passing its `id` and read the full contents (name, comment, song list) of any other user's **private** (non-public) playlist by passing its `id`. The Subsonic playlist `id` is `base64url(\"\u003cuserID\u003e/\u003cfilename\u003e.m3u\")`. Because filenames are user-supplied or time-derived and the `userID` is a small integer, IDs are guessable and frequently exposed (e.g. a previously-public playlist that was later made private still has the same ID). This breaks the multi-user trust boundary of gonic: a low-privileged user can wipe an administrator's curated playlists, and a user can exfiltrate any private playlist they obtain an ID for. The issue was fixed in commit `6dd71e6a3c966867ef8c900d359a7df75789f410`, which is part of version 0.21.0.","ecosystems":["Go"],"exploits":{"exploitdb":0,"first_seen":null,"github_poc":0,"max_poc_stars":null,"metasploit":0,"nuclei":0,"refs":[],"tier":"weaponised"},"has_fix":true,"headline":"Subsonic API: any authenticated user can delete or read any other user's playlist (IDOR)","id":"CVE-2026-49338","indexable":true,"kev":null,"kind":"cve","links":{"ecosystem":"Go","product":null,"products":[],"type":"missing_authorization","year":"2026"},"n_packages":3,"n_references":2,"next":{"headline":"gonic: Path Traversal in playlist `id` bypasses ownership check, enabling any user to read/delete other users' playlists","id":"CVE-2026-49339"},"packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","fixed":["0.21.0"],"introduced":["0"],"last_affected":[],"package":"go.senan.xyz/gonic","purl":null,"source":"GHSA-hmgp-w9jm-vp95"},{"ecosystem":"Go","fixed":["0.21.0"],"introduced":["0"],"last_affected":[],"package":"go.senan.xyz/gonic","purl":"pkg:golang/go.senan.xyz/gonic","source":"GHSA-hmgp-w9jm-vp95"},{"ecosystem":"Go","fixed":["0.21.0"],"introduced":["0"],"last_affected":[],"package":"go.senan.xyz/gonic","purl":"pkg:golang/go.senan.xyz/gonic","source":"GO-2026-5830"}],"prev":{"headline":"libde265 has an unbounded memory leak via orphaned slice headers in `read_slice_NAL`","id":"CVE-2026-49337"},"products":["gonic"],"published":"2026-06-19","related":[],"sources":[{"class":"attribution","licence":"CVE Terms of Use (MITRE)","name":"CVE List","prefix":"CVE"},{"class":"attribution","licence":"CC BY 4.0","name":"GitHub Advisory Database","prefix":"GHSA"},{"class":"attribution","licence":"CC BY 4.0","name":"Go Vulnerability Database","prefix":"GO"},{"class":"attribution","licence":"CWE Terms of Use","name":"CWE (MITRE)"},{"class":"attribution","licence":"FIRST CVSS licence","name":"CVSS (FIRST)"}],"ssvc":{"automatable":"no","exploitation":"poc","technical_impact":"partial"},"state":"PUBLISHED","updated":"2026-06-23","vendors":["sentriz"]},"summary":"Authenticated users can delete or read any other user's private playlists due to missing per-resource authorization checks in the Subsonic API.","url":"https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-49338/"}
