Any signed-in user can exploit it over the network, with no action from the victim.\nExploitation: There is no known exploitation of CVE-2026-54305 in the wild and no public exploit code.\n\nAffected packages and fixed versions:\n- n8n (npm): affected all versions; fixed in 1.123.55\n- n8n (npm): affected all versions; fixed in 1.123.55\n- n8n (npm): affected from 2.0.0-rc.0; fixed in 2.25.7\n- n8n (npm): affected from 2.0.0-rc.0; fixed in 2.25.7\n- n8n (npm): affected from 2.26.0; fixed in 2.26.2\n- n8n (npm): affected from 2.26.0; fixed in 2.26.2\n\nTask:\n1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.\n2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.\n3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.\n4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.\n5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.\n\nReference: https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-54305/ (Markdown: https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-54305/index.md)","id":"CVE-2026-54305","markdown":"https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-54305/index.md","name":"CVE-2026-54305","record":{"aliases":["GHSA-2j5h-858j-5mpf","MINI-g3m2-7jp2-28qj","ROOT-APP-NPM-CVE-2026-54305"],"analysis":{"component_type":"web_application","fix_type":"upgrade","impacts":["account_takeover","data_read"],"network_reachable":"yes","non_default_config":true,"product_category":"n8n workflow automation","requires_auth":"low_privilege","summary":"Authenticated users can hijack other users' OAuth credentials via Dynamic Credentials endpoints, enabling data exfiltration and persistent integration takeover.","user_interaction":"not_required","vuln_class":"missing_authorization"},"analysis_generated_by":"qwen3.8-flash-next","assigner":"GitHub_M","cpe":[{"product":"n8n","vendor":"n8n"}],"cvss":{"score":8.9,"severity":"high","source":"cna","vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:L/SC:H/SI:H/SA:L","version":"4.0"},"cwes":[{"id":"CWE-284","name":"Improper Access Control"},{"id":"CWE-200","name":"Exposure of Sensitive Information to an Unauthorized Actor"}],"description":"n8n is an open source workflow automation platform. Prior to 1.123.55, 2.25.7, and 2.26.2, three EE endpoints used by the Dynamic Credentials feature accepted any authenticated n8n session without performing per-resource ownership or scope checks on the target workflow or credential. An authenticated user with no project membership or credential sharing relationship could enumerate credential identifiers, names, and types referenced by any private workflow in the instance, initiate an OAuth authorization flow against another user's credential to overwrite its stored tokens with tokens bound to an account they control, or revoke another user's stored credential tokens entirely. Workflows relying on a hijacked credential would subsequently execute under the attacker's OAuth identity, enabling data exfiltration to attacker-controlled external services and persistent takeover of integrations. Token revocation would break affected workflows.
