No package-level version data is available, so check the vendor advisory linked from the reference page.\n\nTask:\n1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.\n2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.\n3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.\n4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.\n5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.\n\nReference: https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-54615/ (Markdown: https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-54615/index.md)","id":"CVE-2026-54615","markdown":"https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-54615/index.md","name":"CVE-2026-54615","record":{"aliases":["GHSA-gp89-jfq9-x8r9"],"analysis":null,"analysis_generated_by":null,"assigner":"GitHub_M","cpe":[],"cvss":{"score":6,"severity":"medium","source":"cna","vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:H/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","version":"4.0"},"cwes":[{"id":"CWE-79","name":"Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation"}],"description":"Part-DB is an open source inventory management system for electronic components. Prior to version 2.12.1, LogEntryExtraFormatter builds the HTML shown in the \"Extra\" column of the activity-log table (/log) and in element history tables. Every branch of LogEntryExtraFormatter::getInternalFormat() runs user-controlled strings through htmlspecialchars() before placing them into the HTML it returns — except the CollectionElementDeleted branch, which interpolates getOldName() (and getCollectionName()) into a sprintf() template with no escaping. The returned string is emitted by LogEntryExtraColumn::render() and inserted as raw HTML into the DataTables cell (the bundle does not escape column output; sibling columns call htmlspecialchars() themselves). CollectionElementDeleted.getOldName() is the name of a deleted collection sub-element — a part Parameter, Attachment, PartLot, Orderdetail, etc. — all freely set by any user with edit rights on the owning element. A low-privileged content editor can therefore store an HTML/script payload as the name of such a sub-element, delete it (which writes the log entry), and have that markup parsed as live DOM in the browser of a higher-privileged victim (an administrator/auditor with system.show_logs, or any user viewing that element's history). This is a stored cross-site-scripting / HTML-injection defect caused by a single missed sanitizer in one sibling branch. CSP policies block inline javascript execution under normal conditions. This issue has been patched in version 2.12.1.","ecosystems":[],"exploits":{"exploitdb":0,"first_seen":null,"github_poc":0,"max_poc_stars":null,"metasploit":0,"nuclei":0,"refs":[],"tier":"none_known"},"has_fix":false,"headline":"Part-DB is an open source inventory management system for electronic components.","id":"CVE-2026-54615","indexable":true,"kev":null,"kind":"cve","links":{"ecosystem":null,"product":null,"products":[],"type":null,"year":"2026"},"n_packages":0,"n_references":2,"next":{"headline":"NanaZip: Heap out-of-bounds read in NanaZip SquashFS LZ4 decompressor via unchecked negative return value","id":"CVE-2026-54616"},"packages":[],"prev":{"headline":"DebugKit: MailPreview contains unsafe reflection","id":"CVE-2026-54614"},"products":["Part-DB-server"],"published":"2026-10-23","related":[],"sources":[{"class":"attribution","licence":"CVE Terms of Use (MITRE)","name":"CVE List","prefix":"CVE"},{"class":"attribution","licence":"CWE Terms of Use","name":"CWE (MITRE)"},{"class":"attribution","licence":"FIRST CVSS licence","name":"CVSS (FIRST)"}],"ssvc":{"automatable":"no","exploitation":"none","technical_impact":"partial"},"state":"PUBLISHED","updated":"2026-10-23","vendors":["Part-DB"]},"summary":null,"url":"https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-54615/"}
