## What is CVE-2026-54683?

CVE-2026-54683 is a medium-severity missing authorization vulnerability in nl-portal-backend-libraries, published on 15 Oct 2026. Any signed-in user can exploit it over the network, with no action from the victim.

### Official description

NL Portal Backend Libraries provide backend components for Dutch government portals that interact with residents, customers, suppliers, and partner organizations. Prior to 3.0.3, both the getDocumentContent GraphQL query and GET /api/documentapi/{documentapi}/document/{documentId}/content REST route allow any authenticated portal user to retrieve a document without checking ownership of or another authorized relationship to it. A user with a valid login and another person's document identifier can read that document's contents, which may include sensitive personal information. Document identifiers are random and difficult to guess, but they can leak through other channels. This issue is fixed in version 3.0.3.

Weakness: CWE-639 (Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key), CWE-285 (Improper Authorization)

Check this codebase for CVE-2026-54683 and fix it if it is affected.

What it is: CVE-2026-54683 is a medium-severity missing authorization vulnerability in nl-portal-backend-libraries, published on 15 Oct 2026. Any signed-in user can exploit it over the network, with no action from the victim.
Exploitation: It is not confirmed as exploited in the wild, but public exploit code for CVE-2026-54683 exists.

Affected packages and fixed versions:
- nl.nl-portal:documenten-api (Maven): affected all versions; fixed in 3.0.3
- nl.nl-portal:documenten-api (Maven): affected all versions; fixed in 3.0.3

Task:
1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.
2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.
3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.
4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.
5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.
