## What is CVE-2026-58661?

CVE-2026-58661 is a medium-severity denial of service vulnerability in N8n N8n, published on 10 Jul 2026. Any signed-in user can exploit it over the network, with no action from the victim.

### Official description

n8n before 2.28.0 (and before 1.123.58 on the 1.x branch) contains a disk space exhaustion vulnerability in the data-table file upload endpoint. The per-request quota check does not account for files already written to the shared temporary directory, allowing an authenticated user to repeatedly upload files that accumulate on disk until the periodic cleanup runs, potentially exhausting available disk space on the host.

Weakness: CWE-770 (Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling)

Check this codebase for CVE-2026-58661 and fix it if it is affected.

What it is: CVE-2026-58661 is a medium-severity denial of service vulnerability in N8n N8n, published on 10 Jul 2026. Any signed-in user can exploit it over the network, with no action from the victim.
Exploitation: There is no known exploitation of CVE-2026-58661 in the wild and no public exploit code.

Affected packages and fixed versions:
- n8n (npm): affected all versions; fixed in 1.123.58
- n8n (npm): affected all versions; fixed in 1.123.58
- n8n (npm): affected from 2.0.0; fixed in 2.28.0
- n8n (npm): affected from 2.0.0; fixed in 2.28.0

Task:
1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.
2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.
3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.
4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.
5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.
