An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, and only if a user opens a file or follows a link.\nExploitation: There is no known exploitation of CVE-2026-71502 in the wild and no public exploit code.\n\nAffected product: misp cti-transmute. No package-level version data is available, so check the vendor advisory linked from the reference page.\n\nTask:\n1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.\n2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.\n3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.\n4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.\n5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.\n\nReference: https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-71502/ (Markdown: https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-71502/index.md)","id":"CVE-2026-71502","markdown":"https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-71502/index.md","name":"CVE-2026-71502","record":{"aliases":["GHSA-6x7q-w685-49vg"],"analysis":{"component_type":"web_application","fix_type":"patch","impacts":["code_execution","data_read","data_modify","account_takeover"],"network_reachable":"yes","non_default_config":false,"product_category":"CTI-Transmute web app","requires_auth":"none","summary":"Unauthenticated attackers can inject malicious Vue templates to execute arbitrary JavaScript, potentially stealing data or hijacking sessions in CTI-Transmute.","user_interaction":"required","vuln_class":"xss"},"analysis_generated_by":"qwen3.8-flash-next","assigner":"CIRCL","cpe":[],"cvss":{"score":5.1,"severity":"medium","source":"cna","vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:L/VI:L/VA:N/SC:L/SI:L/SA:N","version":"4.0"},"cwes":[{"id":"CWE-79","name":"Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation"},{"id":"CWE-1336","name":"Improper Neutralization of Special Elements Used in a Template Engine"}],"description":"CTI-Transmute contains a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability caused by insufficient neutralization of Vue template expression delimiters in server-rendered user-controlled data.\n\nAn unauthenticated attacker can create a public conversion whose name or description contains a malicious Vue expression using the application's configured [[ ... ]] delimiters. User profile names may provide an additional injection vector. Although Jinja HTML escaping is applied, the resulting value is subsequently included in a DOM region compiled by Vue.\n\nVue interprets the attacker-controlled value as a template expression rather than ordinary text. By accessing the JavaScript Function constructor from within the expression, an attacker can execute arbitrary JavaScript in the security context of the CTI-Transmute origin. The application's nonce-based Content Security Policy does not prevent exploitation because the Vue runtime compiler requires the unsafe-eval policy exception.\n\nThe malicious payload is stored by the application and executed whenever another user opens an affected page, such as the public conversion detail page. The victim may be a normal user or an administrator. Successful exploitation could allow the attacker to:\n\n  *  Access data available to the victim through the application.\n  *  Extract API keys, tokens, or other sensitive information exposed to the page.\n  *  Perform authenticated actions using the victim's session.\n  *  Modify conversions or other application data.\n  *  Escalate the impact by targeting an administrator.\n\nA demonstrated payload can use [].constructor.constructor(...) to obtain the JavaScript Function constructor and execute arbitrary code. The regression tests also show that a short first-stage payload could retrieve an uncapped conversion description and evaluate a larger second-stage payload.\n\nThe patch addresses the vulnerability by registering a global Jinja finalize hook that inserts a zero-width Unicode word joiner inside every Vue delimiter found in server-rendered values. This prevents Vue from recognizing the values as template expressions while preserving their visible representation.","ecosystems":[],"exploits":{"exploitdb":0,"first_seen":null,"github_poc":0,"max_poc_stars":null,"metasploit":0,"nuclei":0,"refs":[],"tier":"none_known"},"has_fix":false,"headline":"Unauthenticated Stored Vue Template Injection Leads to Cross-Site Scripting in CTI-Transmute","id":"CVE-2026-71502","indexable":true,"kev":null,"kind":"cve","links":{"ecosystem":null,"product":null,"products":[],"type":"xss","year":"2026"},"n_packages":0,"n_references":4,"next":{"headline":"Dolibarr \u003c 24.0.0 Reflected XSS via Extra Fields Administration Template","id":"CVE-2026-71503"},"packages":[],"prev":{"headline":"node-re2: Out-of-bounds heap read in `replace`/`split` via a `Buffer` ending in a truncated multi-byte UTF-8 character → adjacent heap memory disclosed to JavaScript","id":"CVE-2026-71498"},"products":["cti-transmute"],"published":"2026-08-06","related":[],"sources":[{"class":"attribution","licence":"CVE Terms of Use (MITRE)","name":"CVE List","prefix":"CVE"},{"class":"attribution","licence":"CWE Terms of Use","name":"CWE (MITRE)"},{"class":"attribution","licence":"FIRST CVSS licence","name":"CVSS (FIRST)"}],"ssvc":{"automatable":"no","exploitation":"none","technical_impact":"partial"},"state":"PUBLISHED","updated":"2026-08-08","vendors":["misp"]},"summary":"Unauthenticated attackers can inject malicious Vue templates to execute arbitrary JavaScript, potentially stealing data or hijacking sessions in CTI-Transmute.","url":"https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-71502/"}
