## What is CVE-2026-86467?

CVE-2026-86467 is a high-severity vulnerability in Apache Airflow Amazon provider, published on 20 Oct 2026.

### Official description

Apache Airflow Amazon provider: the AWS auth manager's SAML login flow does not bind the authentication response to the browser that began it. The login handler discards the AuthnRequest ID and the callback validates the assertion without requiring a matching InResponseTo, so an unauthenticated attacker who can cause a victim to load a page can complete a SAML login in the victim's browser using the attacker's own assertion, silently logging the victim into the attacker's Airflow account. Subsequent work the victim performs lands in a session the attacker controls.

Affects deployments using the AWS auth manager with SAML authentication. The victim needs only to visit an attacker-controlled page; no Airflow account or credential is required of the attacker. This is the same login-CSRF class fixed in the Keycloak auth manager as CVE-2026-40948.

Users of apache-airflow-providers-amazon are recommended to upgrade to version 9.38.0, which fixes the issue.

Weakness: CWE-352 (Cross-Site Request Forgery)

Check this codebase for CVE-2026-86467 and fix it if it is affected.

What it is: CVE-2026-86467 is a high-severity vulnerability in Apache Airflow Amazon provider, published on 20 Oct 2026.
Exploitation: There is no known exploitation of CVE-2026-86467 in the wild and no public exploit code.

Affected product: Apache Airflow Amazon provider. No package-level version data is available, so check the vendor advisory linked from the reference page.

Task:
1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.
2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.
3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.
4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.
5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.
