What is CVE-2026-92151?
CVE-2026-92151 is a high-severity denial of service vulnerability in nasa fprime, published on 14 Oct 2026. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, with no action from the victim.
Official description
F´ (F Prime) is a framework that enables development and deployment of spaceflight and other embedded software applications. Prior to 4.2.0, Svc::Ccsds::SpacePacketDeframer dataIn_handler is vulnerable because the handler treats the minimum packet-length condition as FW_ASSERT rather than rejecting and returning the buffer. When a CCSDS telecommand frame leaves a payload of six bytes or fewer after TcDeframer removes its header and trailer, the assertion aborts or resets the flight-software process, causing denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 4.2.0.
Weakness: CWE-617
Which versions are affected by CVE-2026-92151?
How do I fix CVE-2026-92151?
No fix has been published for CVE-2026-92151 yet. Limit exposure of the affected software until one is available.
Upgrade, then put limits on request size, rate and nesting depth so one client cannot exhaust the service. More about Denial of service.
Is CVE-2026-92151 being exploited?
It is not confirmed as exploited in the wild, but public exploit code for CVE-2026-92151 exists.
