What is CVE-2026-92156?
CVE-2026-92156 is a medium-severity denial of service vulnerability in nasa fprime, published on 14 Oct 2026. It can only be exploited from the same machine or local network, with no action from the victim.
Official description
F´ (F Prime) is a framework that enables development and deployment of spaceflight and other embedded software applications. Prior to 4.3.0, Svc::EventManager loqQueue_internalInterfaceHandler packetization is vulnerable because EventManager accepts up to the framework LogBuffer maximum, but packet descriptor, event identifier, and time-tag metadata consume part of the larger ComBuffer and leave a smaller remaining budget for log arguments; serialization failure then reaches an assertion. When a deployment bridges events through GenericHub into EventManager and forwards a legal Fw::LogBuffer larger than EventManager remaining log-argument budget, under standard F Prime assertion handling, a legal bridged event payload aborts or resets the process, causing denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 4.3.0.
Which versions are affected by CVE-2026-92156?
How do I fix CVE-2026-92156?
No fix has been published for CVE-2026-92156 yet. Limit exposure of the affected software until one is available.
Upgrade, then put limits on request size, rate and nesting depth so one client cannot exhaust the service. More about Denial of service.
Is CVE-2026-92156 being exploited?
It is not confirmed as exploited in the wild, but public exploit code for CVE-2026-92156 exists.
