## What is CVE-2026-93962?

CVE-2026-93962 is a medium-severity memory corruption vulnerability in Kamailio, published on 20 Sep 2026. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, with no action from the victim.

### Official description

A weakness has been identified in Kamailio up to 5.8.8/6.0.7/6.1.4/6.2.0-dev1. The impacted element is the function shm_malloc of the file src/modules/cdp/receiver.c of the component CDP Diameter Receiver. Executing a manipulation can lead to heap-based buffer overflow. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploit has been made available to the public and could be used for attacks. Upgrading to version 6.0.8 is sufficient to resolve this issue. This patch is called 38711a3e788de0130d48cb485578c482b57d9351/4f62235b6f477b649c5cc18b0c81b4e26c949b98/4f62235b6f477b649c5cc18b0c81b4e26c949b98. You should upgrade the affected component.

Weakness: CWE-122 (Heap-based Buffer Overflow), CWE-119 (Improper Restriction of Operations within the Bounds of a Memory Buffer)

Check this codebase for CVE-2026-93962 and fix it if it is affected.

What it is: CVE-2026-93962 is a medium-severity memory corruption vulnerability in Kamailio, published on 20 Sep 2026. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, with no action from the victim.
Exploitation: It is not confirmed as exploited in the wild, but public exploit code for CVE-2026-93962 exists.

Affected product: Kamailio. No package-level version data is available, so check the vendor advisory linked from the reference page.

Task:
1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.
2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.
3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.
4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.
5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.
