## What is CVE-2026-97668?

CVE-2026-97668 is a critical SQL injection vulnerability in Tyche Softwares Abandoned Cart Pro for WooCommerce, published on 14 Oct 2026. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, with no action from the victim.

### Official description

The Abandoned Cart Pro for WooCommerce plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to SQL Injection via the guest cart persistent meta_value in all versions up to, and including, 10.8.0 due to insufficient escaping on user supplied data and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query in the update_guest_persistent_cart() function. The abandoned_cart_info value, populated from attacker-controlled checkout fields such as the SMS consent field, is passed through stripslashes() and concatenated directly into an UPDATE statement while the adjacent SELECT and INSERT use prepared statements. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to append additional SQL to the query. Because the sink is an UPDATE ... SET on the wp_usermeta table, the injection can both extract sensitive information from the database via time-based blind techniques and modify usermeta rows; it has been demonstrated to escalate an arbitrary account to administrator by writing a wp_capabilities row that shadows the legitimate one.

Weakness: CWE-89 (Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an SQL Command)

What it is: CVE-2026-97668 is a critical SQL injection vulnerability in Tyche Softwares Abandoned Cart Pro for WooCommerce, published on 14 Oct 2026. An attacker can exploit it over the internet without logging in, with no action from the victim.
Exploitation: There is no known exploitation of CVE-2026-97668 in the wild and no public exploit code.

Task:
1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.
2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.
3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.
4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.
5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.
