No package-level version data is available, so check the vendor advisory linked from the reference page.\n\nTask:\n1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.\n2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.\n3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.\n4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.\n5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.\n\nReference: https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-98906/ (Markdown: https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-98906/index.md)","id":"CVE-2026-98906","markdown":"https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-98906/index.md","name":"CVE-2026-98906","record":{"aliases":["AZL-110585","BELL-CVE-2026-98906","DEBIAN-CVE-2026-98906","GHSA-2fw9-6rfh-9q85","UBUNTU-CVE-2026-98906"],"analysis":null,"analysis_generated_by":null,"assigner":"Linux","cpe":[],"cvss":{"score":null,"severity":null,"source":null,"vector":null,"version":null},"cwes":[],"description":"In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:\n\nnet: lan966x: restore RX state on reload failure\n\nlan966x_fdma_reload() backs up rx-\u003epage_pool and rx-\u003efdma before\nreallocating the RX resources for the new MTU. If the allocation fails,\nthe restore path puts these fields back before restarting RX.\n\nHowever, the reload path also updates rx-\u003epage_order and rx-\u003emax_mtu\nbefore calling lan966x_fdma_rx_alloc(). These fields are not restored on\nfailure, so RX can be restarted with the old pages, old FDMA state and\nold page pool, but with the page geometry from the failed new MTU.\n\nThis can make the XDP path advertise a frame size derived from the new\npage_order while the actual RX pages still come from the old allocation.\nFor example, after a failed reload to a jumbo MTU, xdp_init_buff() may be\ncalled with a frame size larger than the restored RX pages.\n\nlan966x_fdma_rx_alloc_page_pool() also registers the newly allocated page\npool with each port's XDP RXQ before fdma_alloc_coherent() is called. If\nfdma_alloc_coherent() fails, the new page pool is destroyed, but the\nrollback path does not restore the per-port XDP RXQ mem model\nregistration either.\n\nSave and restore rx-\u003epage_order and rx-\u003emax_mtu, and restore the old page\npool registration for each port's XDP RXQ before RX is started again.\nThis keeps the restored RX state consistent after a failed reload.","ecosystems":[],"exploits":{"exploitdb":0,"first_seen":null,"github_poc":0,"max_poc_stars":null,"metasploit":0,"nuclei":0,"refs":[],"tier":"none_known"},"has_fix":true,"headline":"net: lan966x: restore RX state on reload failure","id":"CVE-2026-98906","indexable":true,"kev":null,"kind":"cve","links":{"ecosystem":null,"product":null,"products":[],"type":null,"year":"2026"},"n_packages":0,"n_references":3,"next":{"headline":"btrfs: protect sb_write_pointer() with invalidate lock","id":"CVE-2026-98907"},"packages":[],"prev":{"headline":"drm/amdkfd: Properly acquire queue buffers in CRIU restore","id":"CVE-2026-98905"},"products":["Linux"],"published":"2026-10-23","related":[],"sources":[{"class":"attribution","licence":"CVE Terms of Use (MITRE)","name":"CVE List","prefix":"CVE"}],"ssvc":{"automatable":null,"exploitation":null,"technical_impact":null},"state":"PUBLISHED","updated":"2026-10-26","vendors":["Linux"]},"summary":null,"url":"https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-98906/"}
