No package-level version data is available, so check the vendor advisory linked from the reference page.\n\nTask:\n1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.\n2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.\n3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.\n4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.\n5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.\n\nReference: https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-98952/ (Markdown: https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-98952/index.md)","id":"CVE-2026-98952","markdown":"https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-98952/index.md","name":"CVE-2026-98952","record":{"aliases":["BELL-CVE-2026-98952","DEBIAN-CVE-2026-98952","GHSA-cvm8-2x36-72mp","UBUNTU-CVE-2026-98952"],"analysis":null,"analysis_generated_by":null,"assigner":"Linux","cpe":[],"cvss":{"score":7.3,"severity":"high","source":"cna","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:L","version":"3.1"},"cwes":[],"description":"In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:\n\npfcp: make sure the SEID is linear before reading it\n\npfcp_encap_recv() only makes sure that the UDP header and the 4 byte\nPFCP header are in the linear area. When the S flag is set,\npfcp_session_recv() then reads the 8 byte SEID that follows, which is\nnot covered by the pskb_may_pull() check.\n\nA short PFCP packet with the S flag set, or one whose session header\nlies in a fragment, therefore makes pfcp_session_recv() read beyond the\nend of the packet data, and whatever it finds there is stored in the\ntunnel metadata that flower later classifies on.\n\nPull up to the end of the SEID before reading it, and drop packets\nthat are too short to contain it. Reload the header pointer afterwards\nsince pskb_may_pull() may reallocate the skb head.\n\nUse offsetofend() rather than sizeof(struct pfcphdr_session): the\nstructure is not packed, so its size is 16 bytes because of the\nalignment of the __be64 member, while the header on the wire is only 12\nbytes, and valid session messages would be dropped.","ecosystems":[],"exploits":{"exploitdb":0,"first_seen":null,"github_poc":0,"max_poc_stars":null,"metasploit":0,"nuclei":0,"refs":[],"tier":"none_known"},"has_fix":true,"headline":"pfcp: make sure the SEID is linear before reading it","id":"CVE-2026-98952","indexable":true,"kev":null,"kind":"cve","links":{"ecosystem":null,"product":null,"products":[],"type":null,"year":"2026"},"n_packages":0,"n_references":4,"next":{"headline":"devlink: fix devlink_rel reference leak when notify work is pending","id":"CVE-2026-98953"},"packages":[],"prev":{"headline":"riscv: ptrace: Zero-initialize regset buffers before copyin","id":"CVE-2026-98951"},"products":["Linux"],"published":"2026-10-23","related":[],"sources":[{"class":"attribution","licence":"CVE Terms of Use (MITRE)","name":"CVE List","prefix":"CVE"},{"class":"attribution","licence":"FIRST CVSS licence","name":"CVSS (FIRST)"}],"ssvc":{"automatable":null,"exploitation":null,"technical_impact":null},"state":"PUBLISHED","updated":"2026-10-24","vendors":["Linux"]},"summary":null,"url":"https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-98952/"}
