No package-level version data is available, so check the vendor advisory linked from the reference page.\n\nTask:\n1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.\n2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.\n3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.\n4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.\n5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.\n\nReference: https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-99025/ (Markdown: https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-99025/index.md)","id":"CVE-2026-99025","markdown":"https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-99025/index.md","name":"CVE-2026-99025","record":{"aliases":["AZL-110879","BELL-CVE-2026-99025","DEBIAN-CVE-2026-99025","GHSA-25wv-6mrm-3cpw","UBUNTU-CVE-2026-99025"],"analysis":null,"analysis_generated_by":null,"assigner":"Linux","cpe":[],"cvss":{"score":null,"severity":null,"source":null,"vector":null,"version":null},"cwes":[],"description":"In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:\n\nopenvswitch: fix soft lockup in the netlink flow dump\n\nA production compute node carrying a few thousand datapath flows hit a\nsoft lockup inside a single netlink flow dump and panicked.\n\novs_flow_cmd_dump() calls ovs_flow_stats_get() for every flow it\nemits, and that releases stats-\u003elock with spin_unlock_bh() once per\nCPU that has touched the flow. Every release is a local_bh_enable(),\nand each one runs the pending softirq backlog in the dumping thread's\nown context.\n\nThe skb bounds the flows one callback emits, but not the softirq work\nit absorbs. On a CPU that carries the box's packet load the backlog\nrefills as fast as it drains, so the dumping thread becomes that CPU's\nsoftirq engine. It never sleeps and it has no reschedule point, so\nunder voluntary preemption nothing can take the CPU away from it:\nneither the ksoftirqd the kernel woke to take the work over, nor the\nstopper thread the softlockup detector dispatches to refresh its\ntimestamp.\n\nHold BH off across the whole callback instead, the way\nctnetlink_dump_table() does, so the nested spin_unlock_bh() stop\ndraining softirqs. The loop already runs under rcu_read_lock() and\ncannot sleep. What it gives up is preemption under CONFIG_PREEMPT,\nsince a BH-off region is not preemptible outside PREEMPT_RT. The\nregion stays short: the skb caps the flows one callback emits, and\nempty buckets cost no skb space but are each visited once per dump, as\nthe cursor only moves forward. The table grows on insert and shrinks\nonly on flush, so the walk is bounded by the largest flow count the\ndatapath has held. The softirq backlog the callback used to absorb has\nno bound at all.","ecosystems":[],"exploits":{"exploitdb":0,"first_seen":null,"github_poc":0,"max_poc_stars":null,"metasploit":0,"nuclei":0,"refs":[],"tier":"none_known"},"has_fix":true,"headline":"openvswitch: fix soft lockup in the netlink flow dump","id":"CVE-2026-99025","indexable":true,"kev":null,"kind":"cve","links":{"ecosystem":null,"product":null,"products":[],"type":null,"year":"2026"},"n_packages":0,"n_references":5,"next":{"headline":"net: team: free skb when broadcast has no txable port","id":"CVE-2026-99026"},"packages":[],"prev":{"headline":"optee: register TEE devices only once fully initialized","id":"CVE-2026-99024"},"products":["Linux"],"published":"2026-10-23","related":[],"sources":[{"class":"attribution","licence":"CVE Terms of Use (MITRE)","name":"CVE List","prefix":"CVE"}],"ssvc":{"automatable":null,"exploitation":null,"technical_impact":null},"state":"PUBLISHED","updated":"2026-10-23","vendors":["Linux"]},"summary":null,"url":"https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-99025/"}
