No package-level version data is available, so check the vendor advisory linked from the reference page.\n\nTask:\n1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.\n2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.\n3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.\n4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.\n5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.\n\nReference: https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-99050/ (Markdown: https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-99050/index.md)","id":"CVE-2026-99050","markdown":"https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-99050/index.md","name":"CVE-2026-99050","record":{"aliases":["DEBIAN-CVE-2026-99050","GHSA-77g9-3gmv-7p3q","UBUNTU-CVE-2026-99050"],"analysis":null,"analysis_generated_by":null,"assigner":"Linux","cpe":[],"cvss":{"score":7.8,"severity":"high","source":"cna","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","version":"3.1"},"cwes":[],"description":"In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:\n\ngpio: mpsse: fix race when arming the IRQ poll worker\n\ngpio_mpsse_irq_enable() arms the poll worker before publishing it:\nschedule_work() runs before the worker is added to priv-\u003eworkers. If\ngpio_mpsse_disconnect() walks the list in that window it misses the\nworker, and once disconnect returns, the USB core frees mpsse_priv\nwhile the orphaned gpio_mpsse_poll() work keeps accessing it, causing\na use-after-free.\n\nFix this by publishing and arming the worker in one irq_spin\ncritical section. Teardown walks the same list under irq_spin, so a\nworker found on the list is guaranteed to be armed, and\ncancel_work_sync() handles it whether it is queued or running.\n\nA worker armed after the disconnect walk would still be missed, so\nalso set a new priv-\u003edying flag under irq_spin before the teardown\nwalk, and check it in the same critical section, freeing it via\nkfree_rcu() instead when the device is going away, since kfree()\nwould be called with the IRQ core's raw spinlock held and may sleep\non PREEMPT_RT. schedule_work() is safe to call with irq_spin held,\nand the next probe gets a fresh mpsse_priv, so the flag never needs\nto be cleared.\n\nThis issue was found by an in-house static analysis tool.","ecosystems":[],"exploits":{"exploitdb":0,"first_seen":null,"github_poc":0,"max_poc_stars":null,"metasploit":0,"nuclei":0,"refs":[],"tier":"none_known"},"has_fix":true,"headline":"gpio: mpsse: fix race when arming the IRQ poll worker","id":"CVE-2026-99050","indexable":true,"kev":null,"kind":"cve","links":{"ecosystem":null,"product":null,"products":[],"type":null,"year":"2026"},"n_packages":0,"n_references":3,"next":{"headline":"fsverity: RCU-delay the freeing of struct fsverity_info","id":"CVE-2026-99051"},"packages":[],"prev":{"headline":"gpio: xilinx: fix runtime PM leak on request error path","id":"CVE-2026-99049"},"products":["Linux"],"published":"2026-10-23","related":[],"sources":[{"class":"attribution","licence":"CVE Terms of Use (MITRE)","name":"CVE List","prefix":"CVE"},{"class":"attribution","licence":"FIRST CVSS licence","name":"CVSS (FIRST)"}],"ssvc":{"automatable":null,"exploitation":null,"technical_impact":null},"state":"PUBLISHED","updated":"2026-10-24","vendors":["Linux"]},"summary":null,"url":"https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-99050/"}
