No package-level version data is available, so check the vendor advisory linked from the reference page.\n\nTask:\n1. Search the dependency manifests and lockfiles (for example package.json, package-lock.json, requirements.txt, poetry.lock, uv.lock, pom.xml, build.gradle, go.mod, Cargo.lock, Gemfile.lock) and any Dockerfiles for the affected packages, including transitive dependencies.\n2. If an affected version is in use, upgrade it to the fixed version for its release line with the project's package manager, so the lockfile is regenerated. Prefer the smallest upgrade that fixes it.\n3. If there is no fix, or the upgrade would break the build, do not guess: explain the risk and the safest workaround instead.\n4. Run the tests and summarise what changed and why.\n5. If nothing in the project is affected, say so and change nothing.\n\nReference: https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-99201/ (Markdown: https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-99201/index.md)","id":"CVE-2026-99201","markdown":"https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-99201/index.md","name":"CVE-2026-99201","record":{"aliases":["AZL-111362","DEBIAN-CVE-2026-99201","GHSA-q237-q634-6984","UBUNTU-CVE-2026-99201"],"analysis":null,"analysis_generated_by":null,"assigner":"Linux","cpe":[],"cvss":{"score":null,"severity":null,"source":null,"vector":null,"version":null},"cwes":[],"description":"In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:\n\nnetlink: avoid hashing the network namespace pointer\n\nThe netlink rhashtable key includes a raw struct net pointer and a\nuser-controlled port ID. Both /proc/net/netlink and socket diagnostics\nexpose the table's bucket order. By binding and rebinding chosen\nNETLINK_USERSOCK port IDs, an unprivileged reader can distinguish equal\nbuckets and recover the low bits of the Jenkins hash. Its 32-bit seed\nand the limited set of kernel-image slides can then be searched offline\nto recover the address of init_net.\n\nUse the namespace's unique, non-address net_cookie in the comparison\nkey instead. It is assigned before the per-net initializers run and\nremains unchanged for the namespace's lifetime. The lookup key and\nobject hash are still built by netlink_compare_arg_init(), keeping\nlookup, insertion, removal and rehashing consistent while preserving\nnamespace separation. Neither public table walker needs to change.\n\nReading the socket's namespace cookie in netlink_compare() is safe\nunder RCU, including during namespace teardown. netlink_release()\nremoves the socket from the hash table and defers its final put with\ncall_rcu(). cleanup_net() runs the per-net exit methods and waits for\noutstanding RCU callbacks with rcu_barrier() before freeing namespace\nstorage.\n\nUnlike ns.ns_id, net_cookie is also available and initialized during\nsetup_net() in older stable kernels, making the change straightforward\nto backport to v5.15 and later.","ecosystems":[],"exploits":{"exploitdb":0,"first_seen":null,"github_poc":0,"max_poc_stars":null,"metasploit":0,"nuclei":0,"refs":[],"tier":"none_known"},"has_fix":true,"headline":"netlink: avoid hashing the network namespace pointer","id":"CVE-2026-99201","indexable":true,"kev":null,"kind":"cve","links":{"ecosystem":null,"product":null,"products":[],"type":null,"year":"2026"},"n_packages":0,"n_references":3,"next":{"headline":"scsi: libsas: Fix SMP IO deadlock during HA resume","id":"CVE-2026-99202"},"packages":[],"prev":{"headline":"net: hisilicon: hisi_femac: Move setting of netops to fix crash","id":"CVE-2026-99200"},"products":["Linux"],"published":"2026-10-28","related":[],"sources":[{"class":"attribution","licence":"CVE Terms of Use (MITRE)","name":"CVE List","prefix":"CVE"}],"ssvc":{"automatable":null,"exploitation":null,"technical_impact":null},"state":"PUBLISHED","updated":"2026-10-28","vendors":["Linux"]},"summary":null,"url":"https://insights.sbomify.com/CVE-2026-99201/"}
