Malicious package
Published
MAL-2026-15899 is a malicious package: easypanel-docker (npm). Every version was published to cause harm.
Task:
1. Search this repository's dependency manifests and lockfiles for the package, including transitive dependencies.
2. If it is present, remove it, regenerate the lockfile with the project's package manager, and replace whatever it was used for.
3. List any CI runners, developer machines or containers that installed it, so their secrets can be rotated.
4. If the package is not used anywhere, say so and change nothing.

What is MAL-2026-15899?
MAL-2026-15899 is a malicious package in easypanel-docker, published on 4 Sep 2026.
Official description
The preinstall lifecycle script collects host fingerprint data (os.hostname(), os.userInfo().username, process.cwd(), and CI-related environment variable names), base64url-encodes the JSON payload, sanitizes it into DNS-safe characters, and chunks it into ≤50-character DNS labels. The encoded payload is exfiltrated to a hardcoded out-of-band host at easypanel-docker.daco3v4q6f49egu1ds1gwjnsjb88s5kcp.oob.lyomeri.com via both dns.lookup() (DNS tunneling) and an http.request() GET to /npm/<payload>. This fires automatically on
npm install. The package name mimics the popular easypanel Docker deployment tooling, and the DNS+HTTP dual-channel OOB shape matches dependency-confusion / typosquat beacon activity; an in-source comment labelling this a benign canary does not change the behavior. What should I do about MAL-2026-15899?
Remove the package from your dependencies and lockfiles, then rotate any secrets on machines where it was installed.
