Official description

This package follows the naming convention of a platform-specific prebuilt binary distribution (win32-x64 suffix), commonly used by Node tooling to ship native binaries per OS/architecture. No install-time lifecycle execution, remote content fetch, credential access, environment scraping, or network beacon was identified in the shipped contents.

Any computer that has this package installed or running should be considered fully compromised. All secrets and keys stored on that computer should be rotated immediately from a different computer. The package should be removed, but as full control of the computer may have been given to an outside entity, there is no guarantee that removing the package will remove all malicious software resulting from installing it.

What should I do about MAL-2026-18246?

Remove the package from your dependencies and lockfiles, then rotate any secrets on machines where it was installed.
